AgricultureHealth.com—connecting people and information for a healthier future.
Today's educated consumer demands a “back-to-basics” approach to food and nutrition. Health-conscious Americans look toward locally grown produce, and will search far and wide for markets that provide freshness and quality. This website provides consumers with a clearinghouse of information on the health benefits of consuming fresh produce, as well as a quick way to find out what's growing in your area, and who sells it. With its searchable, cross-referenced database of local producers and crops, and informational resources for farm market retailers, growers and consumers, making healthy choices is now easier than ever.
AgricultureHealth.com was developed and funded by the Mid-Atlantic Consortium, a group of educational institutions, businesses, and community and government organizations in the Mid-Atlantic region dedicated to improving the local produce connection for consumers, farm markets and growers. This website is one of 14 national initiatives designed to improve educational programs throughout the U.S. to address food systems issues of today.
